RapiTower & RapiTruss

A bolted structural system for grain leg towers, catwalks and stairs.

How the bolted system works

RapiSYSTEMS elements are fabricated from structural steel, then galvanized. With zero welding, the common pieces bolt together in tower, catwalk, stair and platform configurations.

  • Common structural elements

Standard steel sections repeat across every tower and truss, which keeps unique pieces to a minimum.

  • Fully bolted connections

Members bolt together on site. Welding is eliminated from the project.

  • Galvanized finish

Every piece is galvanized for durability and corrosion resistance in prairie weather.

  • Configured to order

Heights, lengths, widths and attachments are set to your bins, legs and conveyors.

The lineup

All galvanized. All bolt together.

Bucket Elevator Support Towers

A RapiTower is the backbone of a grain leg. Four-post galvanized sections bolt together to the height your elevator needs, with platforms and attachment points set where your spouting, distributor and catwalks connect.

  • Various widths
  • Custom heights available
  • Attachments on any side, at any height
  • Optional wrap-around stairs

2-Post Towers

2-Post Towers carry RapiTruss catwalks and conveyors across your bin yard. They use the same galvanized structural sections as RapiTower, so supports can go almost anywhere along a run.

  • Supports placed anywhere along a catwalk
  • Same common pieces as RapiTower
  • Fast to stand without custom structure

Wrap-Around Stairs

Wrap-Around Stairs turn a support tower into a safe way up. Flights and landings bolt to the tower frame, giving your crew walking access to the elevator head and catwalks.

  • Adds to RapiTower
  • Landings at each level
  • Galvanized, bolted construction

Catwalk Systems

RapiTruss catwalks give safe, continuous access for maintenance and operations, and carry conveyors from bin to bin. Truss sections bolt together to length and rest on RapiTower or 2-Post supports.

  • Runs up to 400 ft in 5 ft increments
  • Spans bins up to 90 ft diameter
  • Add to existing bin setups

From your yard plan to standing steel

  1. Step 1: Configure

We lay out towers, catwalks and stairs around your bins and equipment.

  2. Step 2: Engineer

The configuration is checked for your site, with an engineer when required.

  3. Step 3: Fabricate & galvanize

Common structural sections are cut, drilled and galvanized.

  4. Step 4: Ship

Components ship from the prairies to anywhere in Canada.

  5. Step 5: Bolt together on site

Griffin Ag installs it, or any qualified crew can bolt it up. No welding crew needed.

Bolted vs. welded structure

Custom welded structure has its place. For bin access and conveyor support, a bolted system usually gets you there faster.

Frequently asked questions

Don't see your question? Ask us.

Does a RapiSYSTEMS tower need welding on site?

No. RapiTower and RapiTruss are fully bolted systems built from common structural steel pieces, which eliminates welding from a bin access project.

Can I add a catwalk to my existing grain bins?

Yes. RapiSYSTEMS was designed so farms can economically add a catwalk or conveyor system to an existing bin setup without specialized custom structure or long fabrication and install times.

What sizes are RapiTower grain leg towers available in?

According to the RapiSYSTEMS brochure, towers range from 6 ft wide by 20 ft tall up to 12 ft wide by 160 ft tall, in various widths, with custom heights available. Contact us to confirm sizes for your site.

How long can a RapiTruss catwalk be?

RapiTruss catwalks and equipment supports can be configured to any required length in 5 ft increments, up to 400 ft, with supports placed at nearly any point along the length.

Can stairs be added to a tower?

Yes. Wrap-around stairs are available as an option on RapiTower support towers.

Is the steel galvanized?

Yes. All RapiSYSTEMS structure is galvanized for maximum durability and corrosion resistance.

Who should install my RapiSYSTEMS structure?

We recommend Griffin Ag Services. They developed the system, know every piece, and can handle the install from delivery to the final bolt. Any qualified crew can also bolt it together, and we will ship the structure to them anywhere in Canada.

Do you ship outside Saskatchewan?

Yes. RapiSYSTEMS structure is sold direct and shipped across Canada. Griffin Ag Services also offers installation across Western Canada.

Can you install the structure for us?

Yes. Griffin Ag Services, the team that developed RapiSYSTEMS, is the recommended installer and works across Western Canada with its own heavy equipment, manlifts and tool trailers. Because the system bolts together, any qualified crew can also install it. Visit griffinagservices.com or ask for installation in your quote.
